Either in first-person or third-person, you'll explore the massive world of Tamriel, completing quests for its many characters while earning experience and leveling up. The core gameplay of The Elder Scrolls Online remains the same, with the added option of choosing the necromancer class when you create your character. Like the other “chapter” expansions for The Elder Scrolls Online, Elsweyr adds hours of new content, contained within a new zone. Your journey through Northern Elsweyr is also packed with memorable side-quests and character, resulting in a notably humorous and enjoyable narrative. As always, it's your heroic duty to solve the world's problems, overthrowing Euraxia and attempting to end the dragon invasion. In addition to oppressive life under Euraxia's rule, the citizens of Northern Elsweyr also deal with the recent return of dragons, who lay waste to their villages and cities.
Upon arriving in Northern Elsweyr, your character learns about Queen Euraxia, the vicous ruler of the land. In comparison to other zones in Tamriel, Northern Elsweyr feels exceptionally exotic, with a contrast between its sizzling desert and various temples and tombs.
